DELRAN - David Lee, of Delran, passed away on Tuesday, May 10, 2011.He was born in Newark to Phyllis and William Lee. David was educated at Hawthorne Avenue Elementary School and graduated from Weequahic High School in Newark. After graduation, he attended Rutgers UniversityAfter college David married Shirley Lawson and together they had one son, affectionately known as, "DJ." David worked for many years with Central Paper Co. in Elizabeth before moving to Delran where he worked for more than 10 years with the New Jersey Turnpike Authority, and the New Jersey State Police.During his tenure with the Turnpike Authority David met Martha Washington, his loving companion of 12 years. David was predeceased by a brother, Harold J. Rogers.He leaves precious memories with his mother and father, Phyllis and William Lee; his loving son, David Lee Jr.; three sisters, Barbara J. Travis, Pennie Tyler, Karen Wade; one brother, Dewayne Lee; three brothers-in-law, Michael J. Travis, Dana V. Tyler and Robert Wade; his loving companion, Martha Washington; aunts, uncles, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. A celebration of his life well lived will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday (May 17) at the Tabernacle Baptist Church, 150 E. 2nd St., Burlington.Family and friends may call from 9 a.m. until time of service and from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday (May 16) at the W.R. Woody Funeral Home, 465 High St., Burlington. Interment: Lakeview Memorial Park, Cinnaminson.
