David Lee Carter, 54, of Panama City, Fla., passed away Thursday, Jan. 29, 2009. David was born June 6, 1954, in Columbus, Ga.. to John Carter and Francis Carter. David never met a stranger; he was a people person. He also was a great crafts person; he could do anything. David ran the House of Hope and touched many lives. He was an inspiration to the grace of God for those who chose to find recovery. David was preceded in death by his parents, John Calhoun Carter and Francis Gertrude Scott Carter. David is survived by two children, Michael Lee Carter and Patricia Carter; three grandchildren, Trinity Nicole, Jade Lilley and Michael Orion; several siblings; and many friends. The family would like to thank all of David's friends for their love and strength as they stood by him. Anyone wishing to make donations is asked to do so in his name to the Serenity House, 1211 E. 25th St., Panama City, FL 32405.
