David K. Orr January 26, 1935 - February 27, 2010 Sterling - David K. Orr, 75, of 12 Bailey Rd., Oneco died Saturday morning at Hartford Hospital. He was born January 26, 1935 in Sterling a son of the late Charles and Ellen (Swanson) Orr and had been a lifelong resident of Oneco. Mr. Orr was self employed having operated Dave's Construction Co. for over 30 years. He was a remarkable man, overcoming the effects of polio. Mr. Orr had been Second Selectman in the Town of Sterling. He was a 50 year member of Ekonk Grange #89. Mr. Orr was an avid gardener and loved flowers. He was the devoted husband of Carolyn (Bailey) Orr. They were married May 30, 1979. Besides his wife he leaves two brothers, Thomas Orr and Charles Orr both of Oneco; one sister, Minerva Savage of Preston. Also several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a brother James Orr. A Memorial Service will be conducted on Friday at 1:00 P.M. at Dougherty Bros. Funeral Home, 595 Norwich Rd., Plainfield. In lieu of flowers, Memorial Contributions may be made to the Ekonk Grange, Rt. 49, Moosup, CT 06354.
