David J. Martin, 51 of Hingham, passed away on May 6, 2013. Born on January 19, 1962, David was the son of the late Randall R. and Shirley C. (Leupold) Martin. He was a graduate of Hingham High School and after graduation he attended the Florida Institute of Technology and the University of Massachusetts at Boston with a degree in Business. After working for his family business, he started his own Budget Blinds business in 2003. He was an avid traveler with recent trips to Italy, Hawaii, the Caribbean, and Cayman Brac, where he completed a diving trip. He loved spending time on his boat called "Knot a Problem" and his garden. David had dogs all his life and Lily (chocolate lab) was his constant work partner and companion. David is survived by his loving wife, Catherine A. (Hegerich) Martin and his two children Drew David Martin and Hannah Catherine Martin. He is also survived by his siblings Robert and Randie Martin of Medfield, Ed and Nancy Martin of Norwell and Nancy and Jonathan Goldberg of ME. David was also the loving uncle to numerous nieces and nephews. Visiting hours were in the Sullivan Funeral Home, 551 Washington St., Rte 53 in Hanover, on Thursday, May 9, from 2 - 4 and 7 - 9 p.m. A Funeral service was held on Friday, May 10 at 11 a.m. in Lutheran House of Prayer, 916 Main St., Hingham. Interment will be private.
