DAVID J. ADAMS WHITING, IN David J. Adams, 72 of Whiting, passed away on Monday, May 24, 2010 at Holy Family Medical Center in Des Plaines, IL. He was the beloved husband of the late Elizabeth "Betty" (nee Kozak) who passed away on June 17, 2008; loving father to his sons: David (Lorraine) Adams Jr. of Libertyville, IL and Paul Adams of Highland; adoring grandfather to David III, Annie and Marie; dearest brother of Jim (late Sandy) Adams and the late Robert and William Adams; and cherished brother-in-law to Phyllis and Rose. Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 29, 2010, 9:30 a.m. at the Baran Funeral Home, 1235-119th St., Whiting. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 10:00 a.m. at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Whiting with the Rev. John E. Kalicky, C.PP.S. officiating. Interment, St. John Cemetery, Hammond. Visitation at the funeral home on Friday from 2:00-5:00 and 7:00-9:00 p.m., with members of the parish to offer prayers at the funeral home at 4:00 p.m. David J. Adams was born on March 18, 1938 in East Chicago, IN to Francis and Elizabeth Adams. David was a devoted husband, a lifelong resident of Whiting, was a graduate of East Chicago Roosevelt High School and a retiree of LTV, East Chicago, IN. He was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Whiting and was a veteran of the United States Army. Devoted to his family, he will be sadly missed by all knew and loved him. (219) 659-4400.
