DR. DAVID H. OWEN Dr. David H. Owen, 75 of Sebring, Fla.; passed peacefully at home surrounded by family and friends on March 11, 2008. He was born in Nashville, Tenn. on August 4, 1932. He was a graduated from Dental School at University of Tennessee College of Health and Science, Memphis, Tenn. Dr. Owen was retired from dentistry. He practiced in Miami for 10 years, Sebring and Avon Park for 26 years. He moved to Sebring 26 years ago from Tennessee and was a veteran of the US Army. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Sebring; Past President of Avon Park Chamber of Commerce; Past President of Avon Park Noon Rotary Club. A former Sgt at arms for Rotary District 6890; a former board member of the Salvation Army. Dr. and Mrs. Owen were well known in the community for their award winning Christmas decorations and the joy it brought to all. Dr. Owen was loved and respected by all who knew him and will be deeply missed. He was preceded in death by six brothers and a sister. He is survived by his loving wife Janet; five children and six grandchildren; Dr. Ronald L. Owen and wife Nancy; grandchildren, Christopher, Nikki, Kady of Sebring, Fla.; David H. Owen, Jr., grandson - Nicholas of Gainesville, Fla.; David W. Owen and wife Grace of Lakeland, Fla.; Judy L. Brock and husband Robert of Washington, D.C. and Steven P. Owen and wife Donna, grandchildren: Steven, Jr., Christina of Mulberry, Fla.; The family suggest memorials to Good Shepherd Hospice. Funeral services will be at 6:00 p.m. Monday, March 17, 2008 at First Baptist Church, Sebring with Dr. James Henry officiating. The family will receive friends 5:00 pm till service time on Monday.
