David Earl Johnson, 71, of Campbellsville, died at 2:11 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 9, 2013, in Elizabethtown, Ky.Son of the late Earl M. Johnson and Nora Pierce Johnson Cecil, he was born Feb. 10, 1942, in Texas City, Texas.He professed faith in Christ and was a member of Taylor+s Chapel United Methodist Church.He was a member of the Boaz Masonic Home Lodge #850 F & AM. He married Norma Jean McCarty on Feb. 11, 1961. She preceded him in death April 1, 2013.Survivors include two sons, Dwayne Earl Johnson and his wife, Margie Sue, of Somerset, Ky., and Tony Johnson and his special friend, Linda Welch, of Greensburg, Ky.; a grandson, Daniel Earl Johnson of Somerset; a great-grandson, Zachary Johnson; a half-brother, Phillip Leo Cecil; a half-sister, Sherry Lynn Brockman and her husband, Doug, of Campbellsville; several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends.He was also preceded in death by a grandson, Jacob Lee Johnson, in December 2012; and his stepfather, Leo Cecil, who raised him.Funeral was Friday, Oct. 11, at Parrott & Ramsey Funeral Home in Campbellsville. The Rev. Mark Price officiated.Burial was in Campbellsville Memorial Gardens.
