David C. PetersDavid Carl Peters, age 65, of Florence, passed away Monday, March 18, 2013.Visitation will be Friday, March 22, 11 a.m.-1 p.m. at Eastwood Church of Christ. The service will follow at 1 p.m. with Brother Sonny Owens officiating. Interment will be at Tri-Cities Memorial Gardens.Pallbearers will be, Scott Miller, Tommy McCorkle, Frank McCorkle, Nathan McCorkle, Greg Peters and Gene Peters.Honorary pallbearers are Brandon McCorkle, Randy Dodson, Bert Jones and Lawrence Sledge.He was an avid golfer and Alabama fan and a graduate of the University of Missouri in Rolla, Mo. school of Mines. He was an employee with Reynolds Aluminum until 1987 and retired from Nichols Aluminum in Davenport, Iowa as a chief Metalurgist. He was active in the leadership with Moline Church of Christ in Moline, Ill., recently attending East Wood Church of Christ.Survivors are wife of 42 years, Brenda McCorkle Peters;mother, Crystal Peters, of Effingham, Ill.;children, Heather Miller (Scott) of Murfreesboro, Tenn.;Rachel Peters, of Phoenix, Ariz.;goddaughter, Heather Dodson, of Davenport, Iowa;sister, Chrystal Ann Uptmor (Tom), of Effingham, Ill.;brother, Eugene Peters (Pat), of St. Louis, Mo.; three grandchildren, Michael, Joshua and Kayla;nieces and nephewsIn lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in honor of the grandchildren to Middle Tennessee Christian School, 100 E.
