->PUNTA GORDA, FLA. - David Arthur Adams, 70, passed away Dec. 16, 2013, of cancer. He was born Sept. 28, 1943, in Bangor, son of George and Mary Adams.David attended Brewer High School and U.S. Navy School. While in the Navy he served two tours to Vietnam, one was with the Korean Marines. David received a bachelor degree in Business Administration from Johnson & Wales College in Providence, R.I., graduating in 1978. He was a postal carrier with the USPS serving 33 years retiring in 1999. David and his wife, Diann lived in Orrington for ten years then moved to Punta Gorda, Fla., in 2004. He enjoyed sailing the coast of Maine. David loved to play the guitar with his friends of Alligator Park in Punta Gorda, Fla., and enjoyed gatherings with his friends and wonderful neighbors there.David will be greatly missed by his loving wife of 22 years, Diann Costain Adams of Punta Gorda, Fla.; daughter, Kim Adams Boling of Port Charlotte, Fla.; stepsons, Ronald and Wayne Adams both of Warwick, R.I., and Charles D. Petty of Port Charlotte, Fla.; stepdaughter, Carla Lynch of St. Albans; sisters, Dorothy Nelligan, Louise and Richard Bissell and Nellie Hamm, all of Holden; brothers, George and Joyce Adams of Dedham, Fred Adams of California and Joseph and Carol Adams of Corinth; grandchildren, Joseph and Timothy Boling; and eight stepgrandchildren.He was predeceased by his parents; four sisters, Alice Sherman, Margaret Loper, Mary Eileen Patterson and Pauline Mercier; and three brothers, John, William and Robert Adams.Graveside service will be held at a later date at Hart Cemetery, Holden. Arrangements are with National Cremation Society of Port Charlotte, Fla.
