SALEM, N.Y. - David Abbott Therrien, 88, died Tuesday, March 11, 2014, at Hoosick Falls Health Center, following a long illness. He was born in Swanton, Vt., July 9, 1925, the son of James G. and Ethel (Morey) Therrien, and received his education in Swanton schools. He married the former Margaret Massey Feb. 15, 1947. Mr. Therrien was employed by United Electrical Workers at Stanley Tool Co. in Shaftsbury, Vt., as a machinist for many years. He was an avid car enthusiast and enjoyed traveling to car shows, as well as fishing. Survivors include his wife; three children, David Therrien of Bennington, Vt., JoAnne Keener of Salem and Raymond Therrien of North Bennington, Vt.; six grandchildren and several great-grandchildren; a brother, Russell Therrien of Cabot, Vt.; two sisters, Ruth Merryfield of Barre, Vt., and Yulla Foster of Bristol, Conn.; nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by a son, Rodney Therrien; three brothers, Wendell, Ralph and Everett; three step-brothers, Chester, Maurice and Leon Morey. At his request, there are no services scheduled.
