PARKER Darryl Wayne Parker, 42, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Friday, April 21, 2006 at St. Lukes Hospital. He was born on January 29, 1964 in Jacksonville, FL. Darryl was a 1982 graduate of Trinity Christian Academy of Jacksonville, FL and attended Celebration Church where he enjoyed their praise and worship. He was an employee, co-worker, and friend with the title of Family Service Counselor at Town & Country Funeral Home and Riverside Memorial Park. Darryl has worked in the funeral industry for many years. His passion and care toward his families came from his heart and soul. Darryl would always go the extra mile to serve the families that he was working with. Darryl decided to continue his knowledge and education and enrolled in Real Estate School. With his determination and hard work he received his Real Estate Broker License. He worked with ReMax Realty for over a year. He pursued aggressively with passion and desired to be the best he could be with dual careers.Again he was servicing people, the public, and wanted to make sure his families were served with honesty, dignity, and respect. Darryl loved both being a Family Service Counselor and a Real Estate Broker. He was always busy between the two professions, working out at the gym, enjoying fine entertainment, and going to Bible Studies. Previously he worked with UPS and Q Sports Club. He enjoyed visiting multi-denominational churches to worship with his friends and his Lord and Savior. Darryl was always on the go spending time with his family and friends. He always loved to have a good time, and he enjoyed each and every day of the precious days that the Lord gave him. Darryl knew that the Lord does not promise you tomorrow, but when you awake in the morning, you were promised that day for a second, minute, hour, or day! Darryl is preceded in death by his grandparents; C. D. and Essie Mae Parker, Henry and Margaret Porter, and his loyal companion dog "Smut". Survivors are his parents, Kenneth and Linda Parker, one brother, Keith Wade Parker (Judy) of Jacksonville, FL; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and his special friends, Jackie Gassett and Shaunda Lawson along with many others. The family visitation to greet friends will be held on Tuesday, April 25, 2006 from 5:00pm until 8:00pm at Hardage-Giddens Town & Country Funeral Home (7242 Normandy Blvd.) Jacksonville, FL. 32205. Darryl's funeral service will be held on Wednesday, 2:00pm, April 26th at New Hope Baptist Church (9900 103rd. St.) Jacksonville, FL. 32210 followed by his burial at Riverside Memorial Park. Pastor Chuck Boldt and Pastor Tommy Mallard will be officiating. Darryl will always be known for his love, hugs, smiles, compassion, his thoughtfulness with loving cards to tell you that he cared, dancing, singing, his zest for life, and most of all his love for his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. The poem "Afterglow" sums up what our son, brother, uncle, and friend was all about in this life. Afterglow " I'd like the memory of me to be a happy one. I'd like to leave an afterglow of smiles when day is done. I'd like to leave an echoÉ...whispering softly down the ways of happy times and laughing times and bright and sunny days. I'd like the tears of those who grieve to dry before the sun of happy memories that I leave behind when day is done."
