Smith, Darlene M. KINDERHOOK Darlene M. Smith, 56, of Kinderhook, passed away Sunday, January 14, 2007 in the Columbia Memorial Hospital Hospice, Hudson. Born August 6, 1950 in Nassau, she was the daughter of Kenneth and Josephine (King) Thompson and the wife of Carl B. Smith of Kinderhook. She was in a administrative position for the Department of Social Services for 28 years. She then was employed employed for Berkshire Farms and most recently an administrative assistant for the superintendent of New Lebanon Central School District. Mrs. Smith was an officer of the John W. McConnell American Legion Post #47 Ladies Auxiliary for many years and loved to play bingo. Besides her parents and husband, Darlene is also survived by one daughter, Renee O'Donnell of Valatie; one sister, Irene Morrissey of Valatie; two brothers, Joseph W. Watson of Niverville and Donald Thompson of Schodack; four grandchildren, Sydnee Smith, David and Brittany O'Donnell and Morgan Knott. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins. Friends may call Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m. in the Raymond E. Bond Funeral Home, Rt. 9, Valatie. Funeral services will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. in the funeral home. Burial will be in the Nassau-Schodack Cemetery, Nassau. Contributions in Darlene's name may be made to American Cancer Society, 260 Osborne Rd., Loudonville, NY 12211.
