DANIEL THOMAS MCCARTY III Daniel Thomas McCarty III, 66, of Fort Pierce, Florida died March 1, 2008, at his residence. Danny was a Fort Pierce native, lifelong resident and member of a Saint Lucie County pioneer family. He was a rancher, citrus grower, and President of Rainbow Groves. Danny was a graduate of Dan McCarty High School, class of 1959, and he attended University of Florida. He was a member of St. Andrew's Episcopal Church of Fort Pierce. Survivors include his son, Daniel Thomas McCarty IV of Fort Pierce; daughter, Melanie McCarty Francisco and her husband, Craig, of Fort Pierce; sister, Lela McCarty Mitchell and her husband, Buck, of Thomasville, Georgia; and four grandchildren, Daniel Thomas McCarty V, Jarrett Michael McCarty, Evan Michael Francisco and Emilee Danielle Francisco; and two nephews, John Nelson Daniel III and Michael Tobin McCarty. Danny is preceded in death by his parents, former Florida Governor, Dan McCarty and Olie Brown McCarty; and his brother, Michael Samuel McCarty. The family will receive friends from 10:00 am until 11:00 am, Tuesday, March 4, 2008, at St. Andrew's Episcopal Church. A Eucharist Funeral service will follow at 11:00 am in the church sanctuary with Father John Liebler, Rector, officiating. Burial will be in Palms Memorial Cemetery, Ankona, Florida.
