Brosnahan, Daniel Thomas, III, age 76, of Miami Lakes and Arcadia, FL, died at home on February 28, 2008 after a prolonged battle with cancer. Dan was the son of the late D. Thomas and Julia Anne Brosnahan formerly of Kansas City, MO. He is survived by three sons and one daughter, Tom Brosnahan of Davie, FL, Dan Brosnahan, IV of Atlanta, GA, David Brosnahan and his wife Kelly of Davie, FL, and Kathy Stamm and her husband Ren of Cooper City, FL. He is also survived by his former spouse, Vera Brosnahan of Cooper City, FL. Dan was a loving grandfather to six grandchildren: Tyler, Savannah, and Hunter Stamm, and Ryan, Sean, and Erin Brosnahan. Dan benefited from the loving support of his friend Marian Olszewski during his time of need. Dan grew up in Kansas City, MO and attended Maur-Hill Academy in Atchison, KS. He moved to Miami in 1950, where he attended the University of Miami before founding his own construction company. He was in the concrete business in south Florida for 50 years establishing Kwik-Mix Concrete in 1956 as well as Davie Concrete in 1972. In the early '90s he served as President of the Davie Merchants and Industrial Association. Dan was also a resident of Arcadia, FL where he held citrus and cattle interests for over 25 years. A viewing will be held on Tuesday, March 4 from 7-9pm at Fred Hunter's Funeral Home, 2401 S. University Dr., Davie, FL 33324. The funeral service will be held on Wednesday, March 5 at 10am at Saint Mark Catholic Church, 5601 S. Flamingo Rd., Southwest Ranches, FL 33330. The burial will be at Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Cemetery in Miami, FL. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to the UM/Sylvester Cancer Center at www.sylvester.org.
