O'Keeffe, Daniel J. SIDNEY, N.Y. Daniel J. O'Keeffe, 80, died peacefully at home on Wednesday, January 13, 2010, surrounded by his loving family. Born in Albany, he was the son of the late Daniel and Hannah Byrne O'Keeffe. He resided in Colonie most of his life. Daniel served in the Army during the Korean War and was employed as a lab technician for the NYS Department of Health for 58 years before retiring in 2004. He was a former member of the Ancient Order of Hibernians and St. John's Lutheran Church in Albany. Daniel is survived by his wife of 39 years, Nancy Hoffman O'Keeffe; and four children, Daniel W. O'Keeffe (Jean) of Minn., Kelly O'Keeffe Becker (Jim) of Stephentown, N.Y., Michael O'Keeffe (Tara) of Delmar and Michelle O'Keeffe Hasselbarth (Scott) of Sidney; by eight grandchildren, Stacey, Ryan and David O'Keeffe of Minn., Erin VanKempen of East Greenbush, Erick Lamoree of Colonie, Julia and Katie O'Keeffe of Delmar and Hannah Hasselbarth of Sidney; and by three great- granddaughters. He is also survived by a brother, John O'Keefe (Linda) of Schodack and two sisters, Mary O'Keeffe Shellard (Fred) of Lake George and Loretta O'Keeffe Gardner (Stuart) of S.C. He was the brother-in-law of Alice Cleland of Troy and Arthur Hoffman of Fla. Daniel was also predeceased by a granddaughter, Sarah O'Keeffe. Funeral will be Monday morning at 9:30 o'clock at St. John's Lutheran Church, 160 Central Ave., Albany, N.Y. Relatives and friends are invited and may also call at the Reilly & Son Funeral Home, 1200 Central Ave., Colonie, N.Y.
