OKEECHOBEE - Dana Edward Collins, 52, of Okeechobee, passed away August 10, 2010, in Okeechobee. He was born Feb. 26, 1958, in Ft. Pierce, to Richard "Nick" and Shirley Collins. He was a lifelong resident of Okeechobee and member of First Baptist Church of Okeechobee. He coached a local bowling league and was involved in Community Awareness. Mr. Collins is survived by his companion of many years, Barbara Mathis; brother, Darrell Collins; aunts, Jessie Nell Frost and Catharine Jeffers all of Okeechobee; many cousins, friends, friends from Wings of Independence and others. Visitation will be 4 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 17, 2010, until services at 6 p.m. at Bass Okeechobee Funeral Home with Pastor Richard E. Whipple officiating.
