FRANKLINVILLE - Dan C. Peterson of Wenrick Hill Road died Saturday (Nov. 16, 2013) at his home following a long illness.Born on Feb. 8, 1950, in Corry, Pa., he was a son of Rolla and Alice Adamczeck Peterson Sr.Dan attended Ten Broeck Academy in Franklinville and was employed at Buffalo Crushed Stone of Machias, retiring after 28 years of service. He worked for the village of Franklinville Department of Public works and bartended at Dake's Restaurant in Franklinville.He enjoyed tinkering with cars; loved to play guitar; made a record while in high school with the band The Crusaders; and played with The Serenades for several years, along with another band.Surviving is a lifetime partner, Thelma Weller; a daughter, Yvonne (Lance Watson) Peterson; three sons, Charles (Jewel Osgood) Peterson and Michael (Jeanette) Peterson, both of Franklinville, and Andrew (Keara) Peterson of Japan; four grandchildren, Charles Jr., Lucille, Wolfgang and Wesley Peterson; a brother, Rolla "Bud" Peterson Jr. of Delevan; a sister, Ruth (Walt) Doty of Farmersville; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a brother, Eugene Peterson. A private celebration of his life will be held by the family at a later time.
