Dorothy R. Brennan (nee) Lent, died October 30, 2010 one day shy of her 86th birthday at her home in Eastchester, NY. Surrounded by her family, Dorothy was born in the Bronx, NY on October 31 to Howard and Mary Lent (nee Sullivans from Co. Kerry and Cork, Ireland). She married Patrick J. Brennan, who predeceased her. She is survived by her loving children Regina A. Culver, Patrick J. Brennan (Mary), Mary F. Farrell (Tim), Dorothy A. Brennan, Jeremiah J Brennan (Barbara). Also survived by her loving grandchildren Amy, Patrick III, Stephen, Timothy, Jeremiah, and Connor, two great grandchildren Tyler and Taryn. Also surviving is her brother Howard Lent and sister Margaret Smith. Her sister Mary precedeased her in 1996. Prior to moving to Eastchester, Dorothy lived much of her life in the Bronx and for a short time in Manhattan; where she lived after marrying her husband Patrick. Together they formed a loving partnership devoted to each other and their family. They didn't give up life for their family. Their family was their life. In the pursuit Dorothy left her position with the New York Telephone Company to be a devoted mother and homemaker. Dorothy had a knack for making holidays, other occasions and everyday special and memorable. Although she had a full dinner table every night, she always welcomed more and loved having her grandchildren at her house and on vacations. When she found the time she loved to garden, read, paint and swim. She was a parishioner of Immaculate Heart of Mary Church for almost thirty years. Her passing has left a void that will be impossible to fill. She was loved by many and will be missed by all. Mass of Christian Burial Wednesday 10:30AM at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, Scarsdale.
