DOROTHY L. (PERRAS) HUBBARD - BENNINGTON/ BURLINGTON - Dorothy L. (Perras) Hubbard, 94, of Burlington passed away on Thursday, May 5, 2011, in the Village at Fillmore Pond in Bennington, with her daughters at her side. She was born in Burlington on Jan. 17, 1917, the daughter of George and Etta (Begins) Perras. She was a graduate of Burlington High School and on Oct. 21, 1940, she was married in St. Joseph's Church in Burlington to Joseph Hubbard. He predeceased her on Aug. 2, 2005. For many years, Dorothy and her husband were the owners of the Queen City Motel on Shelburne Rd. Dorothy also volunteered for many years for the American Red Cross and for Replays, a resale shop to benefit Fletcher Allen Healthcare. Dorothy is survived by her two daughters and their spouses, Pamela Glasser Covington and her husband, Bruce, of Santa Barbara, Calif., and Diane Schipke and her husband, James, of Wilmington, Vt.; two grandchildren, Melissa Jean Glasser, and Jason Edward Glasser and wife, Julie, all of Denver, Colo.; also several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by two sisters, Doris Giordano and Pauline Gratton; and by two brothers, Donald Perras and Bernard Perras. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, May 10, 2011, at 1 p.m. in St. Joseph's CoCathedral in Burlington with burial to follow in Resurrection Park Cemetery. Those who wish may make contributions in her memory to the charity of their choice.
