Doris was born May 11, 1939 in Travelers Rest, SC, a daughter of the late Crawford and Ruth Barnett Williams, who passed away in 1982 and 1999 respectively. Doris was a retired bookkeeper with Dr. Thomas Gretz Dentistry in Scottdale where she worked for 13 years. She was previously employed at the former Dickerson Construction Co. in Youngwood where she worked for 29 years and at Security Feed & Seed in Greenville, SC. A graduate of Travelers Rest High School, Doris graduated from Drone's Business College in Greenville and received a BA degree from WCCC in Youngwood. She is a 3-time cancer survivor and recently participated in the Relay for Life fundraiser. She enjoyed reading, birdwatching, gardening, and supporting the Pittsburgh sports teams.Doris will be sadly missed by her sister, Geraldine Eppley and her husband Philip of Tigerville, SC; her brother, Beauford Williams and his wife Cathy of Marietta, SC; numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and Ardis Smith, her friend and caregiver. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Joyce Styles (1967) and a brother, James L. Williams (2008).A service was held Wednesday in the Robert B. Ferguson Funeral Home Chapel, Scottdale, PA. The family will receive friends from 11 AM-12 Noon Saturday July 30, 2011 at The Howze Mortuary. A funeral service will follow at 12 Noon in the Mortuary Chapel with Pastor Glenn Gifford officiating. A Committal service will follow in Locust Hill Baptist Church Cemetery.
