Donna Kay Mitchell of St. Augustine, 61, lost her battle with cancer on September 19, 2010, at 7:14 am. Donna was born September 8, 1949 in Rome, GA and was raised in St. Augustine, FL. Donna worked in administrative public service in both Flagler and St. Johns County for over 20 years. She spent her career dedicating herself to public service. Donna was very kind and compassionate to everyone she encountered. She had a charming and witty personality that would always make you smile. Her greatest love was spending time with family and friends, especially during the Holidays and Cruises to the Caribbean. She was of Baptist faith. She will be deeply missed and will forever be in our hearts. She is survived by daughters, Lisa Mitchell & Shelly Edmonson, Palm Coast, Katherine Fuller, Palm Coast; son, Shaun & Michelle Mitchell, St. Augustine; siblings, Sheila & Jay Gawthrop, Edgewater, Dennis Steed, Fleming Island, Donald "Jr" & Connie "Ditto" Steed, St. Augustine; grandchildren, Katie Richardson, Kevin Kidd, Kayla Mitchell, Brooke Mitchell, Levi Mitchell, and Dalton Rae Mitchell; great-grandchild, Nevaeh Schuele; nieces, Christine Wall and Tammy Steed; nephew, Andrew Bower; great nieces, Kaley Hudgins & Summer Bower; and great nephew, Cole Wall & Drew Bower; childhood best friend, Cheryl Ashton, St. Augustine, and many extended friends. Donna is preceded by her parents, Donald & Katherine Steed, grandson, Keith Richardson, and her special pet "Coal." Visitation services will be held at 1 pm, and Funeral Services will follow at 2 pm on Wednesday, September 22nd at Craig's Funeral Home; followed by graveside services at Craig Memorial Park.
