David Alvin Bishop, 59, of 176 Diane Drive, Easley, loving husband of Barbara Johnson Bishop, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, December 27, 2006. Born in Greenville, he was the devoted son of Sybil Smith Bishop and the late Alvin Bishop. Mr. Bishop served in the U.S. Army, and earned his bachelor's degree from Carson Newman College. He retired from Kemet Electronics after twenty-eight years of service. Mr. Bishop loved the Lord with all his heart, and was a faithful member of Solid Rock Baptist Church. Additional survivors include a son, Jonathan Bishop, and wife Amanda, and grandson, Isaac Sutton Bishop, of Glen Allen, Va.; a stepdaughter, Janice Thornton of Easley; stepsons, Richard Wyatt and wife, Bobbie, of Taylors and Terry Wyatt of Greenville; a sister, Judy Center of Taylors; five stepgrandchildren, Amy Fletcher, Elizabeth Holcombe, Jonathan Hall, Joshua Winchester, and Whitney Wyatt; and two step-great-grandchildren, Ella and Ava Holcombe. Visitation will be held on Friday from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Northwest. Funeral services will be Saturday at noon at the funeral home, with burial at Grand View Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the A.L.S. Fund, 3561 E.
