Daniel J. Harrington, a resident of Yonkers, NY since 1983, died on Saturday, January 27, 2007 at his Yonkers home. Formerly of the Bronx, Danny graduated from Cardinal Hayes High School and served in the Army National Guard from 1957 to 1963. Danny retired from the New York City Fire Department in 1996, after serving 37 years. During his career, he received numerous citations and awards for bravery including the Hugh Bonner Medal in 1977, one of the highest medals awarded by the FDNY. He was the beloved husband of Ellen, dear father of Patricia and father-in-law of Thomas Fitzpatrick of the Yonkers Fire Department. He was also the loving grandfather of Christina Rose and Thomas Daniel. Also survived by his loving sister, Catherine Angley, and many nieces and nephews. Funeral Mass to be held on Wednesday, January 31, 2007 at 10 AM, at St. John the Baptist Church, Yonkers, NY. Entombment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery. The family will be present Monday, January 29, from 7 to 9 PM and Tuesday, January 30, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM. F.
