MACDONALD-On Friday January 28th, 2005 at Sunset Extendicare, D'Arcy Morris of Regina passed away after a long illness. He was born February 2nd, 1917 in Hope B.C. Predeceased by his parents D'Arcy and Evelyn Macdonald and sister Ruth Macdonald. He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Helen; son Jim (Alison Green) and children Michael and Christina, Laura Macdonald and her mother, Rosemarie Macdonald; daughter Kathleen Norton of Markham, Ontario and her sons Christopher of Whistler, B.C., Douglas and Gregory of Markham, Ontario and their father, David Norton of West Hill, Ontario; his sister-in-law Kay McHale of Victoria, B.C. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews, great nieces and great nephews, and many good friends. D'Arcy served 5 years with the RCAF as a Flight Sergeant in Torbay, Newfoundland, Winnipeg and at No. 4 SFTS, Saskatoon, where he met Helen. He was employed for many years with Canada Safeway in Saskatoon, Regina, and Toronto. He and Helen lived in Toronto for 20 years, and returned to Regina in 1992. D'Arcy was an ardent sports fan of the Saskatchewan Roughriders and the Toronto Blue Jays. He also enjoyed the NFL teams. He had a wonderful memory and could remember every player on any team in any league. He found tremendous joy in his family, especially Helen's parents, Jim and Mae Donlon. He was a Fourth Degree Knights of Columbus Council 1517, Saskatoon; a member of the Canadian Legion, Regina Branch; Past President of the Wishing Well Lions Club, Scarborough, Ontario; Life member of Regina Cosmopolitan Club and Vice-President of the Clan Donald Society of Toronto. A memorial Mass will be held at Holy Rosary Cathedral on Wednesday February 2, 2005 at 1:00 P.M. with Reverend Donald McNeil, celebrant. Interment in Woodlawn cemetery, Saskatoon SK at a later date. Flowers most gratefully declined. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, The Lung Association, or the Canadian National Institute for the Blind.
