Cynthia "Cyndi" L. Horton, 51, of Syracuse passed over on Wednesday. She was born December 25, 1962 to parents, Louis S. and Marian A. Horton of Kingman, Maine. She graduated from Lee Academy, received her Bachelor's and Masters Degrees from the University of Maine at Orono, where she discovered her love of hockey. She attended Syracuse University where she pursued her PhD. She spent many years working for UPS, Carrier, and most recently Time Warner. She had a pure soul, a loving heart, a quick wit and deep sense of humor. She loved the rain, the ocean, and cats. Words to describe her are hollow and cannot express the depth of her soul. She is survived by her sister, Robbie McKay; and her fiance, Nate of Molunkus, ME; a special nephew, G. Rogan McKay and his fiance, Spencer of Passadumkeag, ME; a special cousin, Ingrid Hunter and her husband, Ralph of Lincoln, ME; many cousins; many, many friends who were her New York family. A Service of Remembrance will be held Tuesday at 7 p.m. at CARTER FUNERAL HOME, 1604 Grant Blvd., Syracuse. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in Cynthia's honor be made to a youth hockey program of one's choice.
