Cora E. Brown Carter of BinghamtonCora E. Brown Carter, 88, of River Mede Manor Nursing Home, went to be with her Lord Thursday, August 22, 2002 at Wilson Memorial Hospital. She was predeceased by her husband, John Carter; and a sister, Katherine Brown Mittan. She is survived by three children, Elaine Hunsinger, Syracuse, Allen and Deborah Carter, Fayetteville, N.C., Marilyn and Larry Romich, Johnson City; eight grandchildren, Roxanna Hunsinger, Kathryn Hunsinger, Connie Lindsey, Jeannine Lindsey, Richard Lindsey, Karen and John Chiavacci, Laina Carter and Michele Gordon; 14 great-grandchildren; a brother, George Brown, Dimmock, Pa.; a sister, Caroline Strait, Elk Lake, Pa.; also several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was a long time member of the Park Terrace Heights Gospel Chapel where she had been the Sunday School Secretary for many years. She enjoyed domino's and spending time with her family. She made many good friends over the years through her self employment as a housekeeper. Funeral services will be held Sunday at 2:30 p.m. from the Wm. R. Chase & Son Funeral Home, 737 Chenango St., Port Dickinson, with the Rev. Matthew Rennie, pastor of her church, officiating. Burial will be in Pine Grove Cemetery, S. Sterling, Pa. on Monday at 11 a.m. Friends wishing may make memorial contributions to the Park Terrace Heights Gospel Chapel.
