JONES, Colleen Drice Gettins, longtime resident of Oldsmar, Fla., died Saturday, October 6, 2007. Colleen was born September 8, 1926, in Tampa. She graduated from Hillsborough High in 1944, and was an active participant in the "Little Theater" at the University of Tampa. She embraced both life and work with boundless energy. As a teenager, she worked at the Tampa shipyards. Later, she assisted her first husband, Harold, in photography, and then became a million-dollar seller in the insurance business. Colleen is survived by her loving husband of 28 years, Bob Jones; her children, Carol Gottschalk and George ' Eddie' Gettins; daughter-in-law, Anita Gettins; son-in-law, Peter Gottschalk; grandchildren, Leila Kroll, Carly Gottschalk and Gina and Paul Gettins; great-grandchildren Kaya and Dustin Kroll; step-children, Stacey Arcuri and Bradley Jones; step-grand-children, Peter Arcuri and Christopher and Adam Gottschalk; and step great-grandchildren, Lily, Grace and Joshua Gottschalk. She was preceded in death by her first grandchild, Dustin Gottschalk, in 1994. Funeral services will take place at 3:30 p.m. Friday at Community United Methodist Church, which is on the corner of East Buckingham and St. Pete Drive, in Oldsmar, Fla.
