CLYDE JOHNSON "JERRY" HAMMOND, IN Clyde "Jerry" Johnson, age 77, of Hammond, born in Alabama, passed away suddenly on June 11, 2014. He was the son of Clyde and Lottie Johnson. Jerry is survived by his wife of nearly 50 years, Marlene; sister, Francis (late Jack) Little of FL; daughter, Wendy (James) Tustison of IN; son, Rick (Cindy) Klien of NM; 11 grandchildren including April (Harry) Wickhorst, Carrie Tustison, James (Kendra) Tustison, Bryan (Shannon) Tustison, Shannon (Ryan) Terry of SC, Kristopher (Christy) Reaves of TX, Candy (Danny) Thomas of AZ, Ricky (Melody) Klien of UT, Dawn (MJ) Hughes of WA, and Nicole (Kenneth) Smith of NM; 23 great grandchildren; nieces, nephews, and numerous family and friends. Jerry was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Leona Donaldson; daughter Katherine Anne Reaves; and grandson, Jason Tustison. Jerry worked at and retired from Inland Steel after 42 years. He enjoyed retirement by spending time with his wife at their lake house, fishing, bird watching, reading westerns, and the company of many friends and family. Jerry will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. Honoring Jerry's wishes, he has been cremated. Friends may visit on Thursday, June 19, 2014 from 2:00 to 7:00 PM with a Memorial Service to follow at 7:00 PM at OWENS-RUZICH FUNERAL HOME, 816 - 119th St., corner of (Rt. 41) Calumet Ave. at 119th Street, Whiting with Reverend Donald E.
