ROBINSON, Clifford Brian Clifford Brian Robinson, beloved husband of Harriet Tanaka of Calgary, passed away suddenly on January 13, 2009 at the age of 59. Cliff was born on May 15, 1949 in North Battleford, Saskatchewan. The family moved to several towns in Saskatchewan and Alberta before settling in Claresholm in 1966. From there Cliff moved to Calgary to attend SAIT and worked as a diesel mechanic until he joined the Calgary Fire Department in 1978. He culminated his careers as Captain at No. 10 Station. Cliff loved the great outdoors especially skiing, hiking and scuba diving. Cliff and Harriet enjoyed many adventures together in their travels to Africa, Australia, Central American, and many tropical destinations. Cliff was a dedicated, loving, and caring husbands as well as Harriet's best friend. He was always there to help his family and friends. Cliff was predeceased by his parents Clifford and Adeline Robinson. Cliff will be lovingly remembered by his wife Harriet; sister Rosemary (Nestor, daughter Candace (Marc and children Cassondra and Nicole) and son Trevor (Audrey and children Brandon and Megan); sister Donna (Wayne, son Vince (Cristina), daughter Heather); brother Clayton (Donna, daughter Tamara (Shuane and daughter Victoria)); sister-in-law Veronica (Bob, daughter Lisa, child Kendra); sister-in-law Rosalinde (Ben, daughter Jennifer (Ryan), son Russell). A Memorial Service to celebrate Cliff's life will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, January 22, 2009 at Centre Street Church, Main Campus, 3900 - 2 Street N.E., Calgary, Alberta. Cliff's family would like to thank the Sunshine Village Ski Patrollers, Snow Hosts, staff and members of the Calgary Fire Department for their care, support and compassion. A very heartfelt thank you from Harriet to Dave Clark and Jasmine Clarke for helping her through the most difficult day of her life. If friends so desire, memorial donations may be made directly to the Calgary Firefighters Burn Treatment Society (No. 440, 10816 Macleod Trail S.E., Calgary, Alberta T2J 5N8) or the Veterans Food Bank (No. 1, 4539 - 6 Street N.E. Calgary, Alberta). Cliff will be dearly missed by all who knew him (Save some fresh powder for us Cliff).
