KEEHN, Clayton Charles, 77, died Tuesday, August 23, 2005, at Sylvan Health Center from cancer and a rare neurological disorder known as progressive supra- nuclear palsy. Clayton was born on a dairy farm near Boyd, Wis., graduated from Boyd High School as valedictorian in a class of seven, married his dream girl and headed south to begin a new life in Clearwater in 1956. Clayton found work with Modern Decorative Plastics before changing careers to become a salesman for Western & Southern Life Insurance Co. Twenty years and three children later, Clayton retired in 1984 to pursue his lifelong passion for collecting and became a nationally known deltiologist (collector of vintage postcards). Clayton served as a director of the Sunshine Postcard Club and co-owned Keehn Kollectables. His other passion was frequent travel with his constant companion and loving wife, Evelyn. Clayton was a faithful member of Prince of Peace Lutheran Church in Largo and former member of Rogate Lutheran in Largo and F irst Lutheran in Clearwater. Clayton's church fellowship extended to the softball field, where he played and coached in church leagues for many years. He was also an avid golfer who seldom took a practice stroke and always enjoyed the game regardless of the score. His passion for professional sports led him to become a charter season ticket holder of both the Buccaneers and Devil Rays. Much of Clayton's life revolved around his family. Survivors include his son, Jeffrey C. (and Lori) Keehn of Bushnell; daughters, Pamela K. (and Mark) Iusi of Clearwater and Cynthia M. Keehn of Asheville, N.C.; grandsons, Dylan D. Iusi of Clearwater and Brandon W. Keehn of Bushnell; granddaughter, Caroline M. Iusi of Clearwater; sister, Jane Malison of Cupertino, Calif.; Richard Keehn of Ladysmith, Wis.; and numerous nieces and nephews. Clayton was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 46 years, Evelyn; his sister, Dorothy Seichter of Eau Claire, Wis.; and brother, Kenneth Keehn of Crown Point, Ind. Friends and family will fondly remember Clayton for his good nature, love of food, homespun humor, off-key singing, bargaining prowess, and belief that while heaven is a better place we should make the best of this world while we're here. And he did. Arrangements by Moss Feaster Funeral Homes, Belcher Road.
