Mrs. Claudia Irene Moore Wilkerson, 84, Altoona, died Wednesday, June 15, 2011, at the Altoona Health Care Center after a battle with cancer. She was a native of Jones, La., and a resident of Altoona for the past 11 years and a former resident of Crossett, Ark., for 14 years and Freemont, Calif., for many years. She was an inspector at a box factory in California and a member of the South Crossett Missionary Baptist Church. The family wishes to thank Linda Bigelow and the staff at Altoona Healthcare for their love and devotion to our mother, grandmother and great-grandmother; Dr Sahawreh for his wonderful care; and the staff of Wiregrass Hospice. Words cannot express how much each of you means to us.She was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Ray D. "Dub" Wilkerson; her parents, William and Myrtis Snell Moore; and six sisters.She is survived by a daughter, Raye Dale Jones, Altoona; three sons, Don Wilkerson, Freemont, Calif., David Wilkerson, Discovery Bay, Calif., and Rick Wilkerson, Louisiana; eight grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.Funeral services are at 2 p.m. Sunday, June 19, 2011, in the chapel of Jones-Hartshorn Funeral Home, Hamburg, Ark.
