Claude Lyttleton Williams, 83, of Greenville, died in the arms of his loving wife on Friday, February 22, 2008, at National HealthCare of Greenville.Born in Raleigh, N.C., he was the son of the late Claude L. and Esther M. Wolf Williams of Reisterstown, MD.He was a Senior Chemist at Champion Spark Plug Company, retiring in 1987.He was a U.S. Navy veteran from WWII, having served aboard the U.S.S. Amick in the American, European, African, Middle Eastern and Asiatic Pacific Campaigns.He graduated from Clemson Agricultural College with a degree in Chemistry in February 1948.Surviving in addition to his wife, Janet Kathleen Taber Williams, are daughters, Ruth Kathryn Williams, Lakeland, Fla., Sally Rose Rice, Roseville, Mich., Nancy Elaine Rice, Washington, Mich., Juel Anne Rice, Gladstone, Mo.; one son, Gary Keith Williams, Baltimore, Md.; four grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by a son, Ross Claude Williams.Visitation and a memorial service will be held at 2 p.m., Thursday, February 28, 2008, at Rolling Green Village.In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Caris Healthcare, 208 Adley Way, Greenville, SC 29607; Clemson University IPTAY, P.O.
