Decatur<!--Decatur-->Graveside service for Claude Leonard Nelson, 96, of Decatur will be today, Sept. 5, 2009, at 11 a.m. at Roselawn Cemetery with the Rev. Randy VanLandingham officiating and Roselawn Funeral Home directing. Mr. Nelson, who died Friday, Sept. 4, 2009, at Summerford Nursing Home, was born March 2, 1913, in Decatur to William B. Nelson and Louisa Nelson. He was a lifelong member of Grace Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his wife, Fannie Collins Nelson; and one son, Billy Nelson. Survivors include one son, Dan F. Nelson and his wife, Laureen, of Decatur; three grandchildren, Dan Nelson Jr. of Talkeetna, Alaska, Leigh Littrell and her husband, Wade, of Mooresville and Margaret Craig and her husband, Wilson, of San Jose, Calif.; and four great-grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Committee on Church Cooperation or to the Neighborhood Christian Center.
