Clarence D. 'Bake' Williams NORMANDY BEACH - Clarence D. "Bake" Williams, 92, of Normandy Beach, formerly of Lambertville, died on Saturday, April 2, 2011, at the Ocean Medical Center, Brick, NJ. A native and longtime resident of Lambertville, Mr. Williams retired to Ocean Beach 28 years ago and had been a resident of Normandy Beach for 13 years. He was a milk man for 44 years and was the last door to door milk man to serve the Lambertville area. He first worked for his father-in-law, Gideon B. Burd, at the Maplehurst Dairy in Lambertville. He later worked for Waldron's Dairy in Califon and Johanna Farms in Flemington. He was a volunteer fireman and a past chief with the Fleetwing No. 3 Fire Company of the Lambertville Fire Department with 65 years of membership. He was a founding member of the Lambertville-New Hope Rescue Squad and a past member of the Lambertville Kiwanis and the Odd Fellows. He is survived by his beloved wife, Betty C. Burd Williams. At the time of his death, "Bake" was looking forward to celebrating his and Betty's 70th wedding anniversary on May 17. He is also survived by his daughters and their husbands, Beverly W. and Edward C. Crum of Titusville, NJ, and Bonnie L. and Douglas R. Barnett of Napa, CA; his grandchildren, David E. Crum and Rebecca A. Crum of Titusville, and his sister-in-law, Nancy Williams of Lambertville and her family. He was the son of the late Edward J. and Myrtle Baker Williams and the brother of the late Edward J. "Shorty" Williams. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, April 7, at 11 a.m. at the Van Horn-McDonough Funeral Home, 21 York St., Lambertville, NJ 08530. Interment will follow at the Holcombe-Riverview Cemetery, Delaware Township, NJ. Calling hours are at the funeral home on Wednesday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. and on Thursday morning from 10 a.m. until the start of services. Fire department services will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday evening at 7 p.m. Memorial donations may be made to the Fleetwing Fire Company, 230 N. Main St., Lambertville, NJ 08530.
