MANCHESTER - Claire (Verrette) Perry, 85, of Manchester, died Oct. 9, 2013, with her family at her side at Villa Crest Retirement Community in Manchester of complications from Alzheimer's disease. She was born in Dover on Oct. 13, 1928, to Victor S. and Dorothy (Gillis) Verrette. She was a graduate of Elliot Hospital School of Nursing, Class of 1949A. Claire worked as a registered nurse at Elliot Hospital, Visiting Nurse Association and Medpool for many years. She was a communicant of St. Catherine of Siena Church and sang in the church choir. She also volunteered at the Red Cross in Manchester. She enjoyed flower gardening, bird feeding, many pets and playing golf. She was predeceased by her husband, George W. Perry, in April of this year and by a daughter, Gay Elizabeth Perry, in 2000. The family includes three children, Rebecca Dionne and her husband, James, of Manchester, W. Jackson Perry and his wife, Alicia, of Pembroke and George A. Perry of Hooksett; four siblings, Dorothy Ross of Rochester, Victor Verrette Jr. and his wife, Sallie, of Grinnell, Iowa, Andrea "Toody" Ross of Dover and J.R. "Ronny" Verrette and his wife, Henny, of Scottsdale, Ariz.; and cousins, nieces and nephews. . SERVICES: Calling hours are Monday from 4 to 7 p.m. at Lambert Funeral Home & Crematory, 1799 Elm St., corner of North Street, Manchester. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. at St. Catherine Church, corner of Webster and Hemlock streets, Manchester. Committal prayers will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery, 448 Donald St., Bedford.
