Hendricks, Claire Jan. 9, 1936 - Sep. 3, 2014 Claire was the loving wife of the late David L. Hendricks and leaves behind a sister Doris Gallant of Wakefield, MA, four children; Leslie Hendricks, Lisa Hendricks Sellitti, Brett Hendricks, Lynne Hendricks Wiehe, three stepchildren, Mark Hendricks, Cathy Hendricks and Jeff Hendricks, and ten grandchildren who loved her dearly. Claire was predeceased by her son Brian Hendricks, Jr. Claire was born in Somerville, Massachusetts and spent the first half of her life living in Cape Porpoise, Maine and in Newburyport, Massachusetts. She moved to sunny Florida in the mid 1980's, and found Boca Grande, where Claire listed and sold real estate for approximately 15 years. Claire retired to Sarasota where she stayed active doing what she loved most: Spending time with David and her children and grandchildren, traveling, playing bridge, shopping and volunteering at the Tidewell Hospice House. Those who knew her will remember her warm heart and generosity, and her service to others at Tidewell was just one of the many things she did that represented those virtues beautifully. Her sharp wit and humor, beautiful smile and never-ending love and support of her family and friends will be missed beyond measure. A private memorial will be held for Claire in New England; and, according to her wishes, she will be interned with her husband David at Sarasota National Cemetery with no services.
