LOWELL -- Claire C. (Desruisseaux) Peloquin, 83, a lifelong resident of Lowell who was a retired Raytheon Co. employee and active in Catholic Church organizations, died unexpectedly Monday evening, March 14, at Saints Memorial Medical Center in Lowell after a long battle with cancer. She was married for more than 50 years to Leonel S. Peloquin, who died in 1992.Born in Lowell, July 27, 1921, she was the daughter of the late Leonidas and Aurelie (Vendette) Desruisseaux. She was a graduate of St. Joseph High School with the class of 1939.Prior to her retirement, Mrs. Peloquin was an executive secretary for more than 28 years at Raytheon in South Lowell. Previously she worked in the payroll department at Wannalancit Mills. For more than 60 years, she was a parishioner of the former St. Jean Baptiste Church, and later was a communicant of the former Ste. Jeanne d'Arc Church till its recent closure.She was a member of the Third Order of St. Francis, l'Association Marie Immaculate, Association Canado-Americaine and Friends of St. Joseph's Shrine. For numerous years, she was a recruiter for the former Oblate Retreat House Guild in Hudson, N.H., where she served as a captain of the guild.Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Jean L. and Lorna Peloquin of Clinton, and Louis P. and Wendy Peloquin of Billerica; three daughters and sons-in-law, Marie and Robert R. Wagner of Lowell, Michelle A. and Hayden Anderson of Dracut and Cecile T. and Leo H. Paquin of Dracut; 13 grandchildren, Raymond Wagner, Daniel Wagner, Michael Wagner, Anne Marie Wagner, Paula Wagner, Elayne Peloquin, Guy Peloquin, Renee MacConnell, Linda Frank, Michelle Desrochers, Valerie Paquin-Gold, Brad Paquin and Georgianna Peloquin; and 22 great-grandchildren.She was also the sister of the late Simeon Desruisseaux, Father Louis Desruisseaux OMI and Rev. Sister M. Joseph of the Divine Heart, SJNM.
