Christine Moore Smith SPARTANBURG, SC-- Christine Moore Smith, 86, of the Ben Avon Community went home to be with her Lord Sunday, December 19, 2010, after an extended illness. She was the widow of Garland Smith and daughter of the late Philetus and Hattie Galloway Moore. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family and was survived by several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her long-time friend, John Phillips. Mrs. Smith was a graduate of New Prospect High School and retired as a clerk from the Spartanburg County Library System. She was a member of Ben Avon Baptist Church where she sang in the choir and taught the Faithful Workers Sunday School Class. She loved to garden and was a member of the Lillie Knox Garden Club. Funeral services will be 11:00 AM, Wednesday, December 22, 2010, at Bobo Funeral Chapel officiated by Rev. Richard King. Interment will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 10:00-11:00 AM prior to the service. Memorials may be made to Ben Avon Baptist Church, 2437 Wallace Ave., Spartanburg, SC 29302.
