Christine Frost Smith, 80, of Sheffield, Ala., died March 19, 2006, at Eliza Coffee Memorial Hospital, Florence.She was born in Lawrence County, Ala., on April 7, 1925, and was a seamstress at G.C. Lingerie. She was a member of Bethany Baptist Church.She was preceded in death by her husband, the Rev. Bennie Smith; father, Emmanuel Frost; and mother, Ether Posey Frost.She is survived by her sons, LeRoy Smith, of Town Creek, Ala., Benjamin Smith, of Hartselle, Ala., Bobby Smith, of Sheffield, Ala.; daughters, Diane Smith, of Sheffield, Ala., Sandra Black, of East Lawrence, Ala.; brother, Connie Frost, of Town Creek, Ala.; 10 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.Pallbearers will be Lynn Frost, David Frost, Roger Reed, Gary Parker, Larry Parker, Drew Parker and Brian McGregor.Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, March 21, 2006, at Lawrence Funeral Home. The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, March 22, 2006, at Bethany Baptist Church, Town Creek. The body will lie in state at the church from 1-2 p.m. before the funeral service.Officiating at the funeral will be Brother Jake Yarbrough and Brother Hollis Retherford. Interment will be in Blackground Cemetery, Town Creek.
