Christine A. Walker, 66, of Rutland, died March 26, 2015, following a long illness, with her family by her side at Rutland Regional Medical Center. She was born on November 9, 1948, in Springfield, the daughter of Alfred and Beatrice (Brooks) Walker. Ms. Walker graduated from Black River High School in 1966 and hairdressing school in Rutland. She was employed many years as a hairdresser and cook at Idlenot Restaurant in Springfield prior to becoming employed as a drug and alcohol counselor at the Canterbury Farm (now Fletcher Farm) in Ludlow. Ms. Walker was a lifelong member of the Cavendish Baptist Church, where she had been very active at planning church events and serving on several committees. She enjoyed cooking and spending time with her family and friends. Survivors include her daughter, Kasi Walker of Anchorage, Alaska; her mother, Beatrice Walker of Clarendon; two brothers, Bruce Walker and his wife Katie of Wallingford and Larry Walker and his wife Maibeth of Texas; three nieces, Alison, Meredith and Melanie, and three great-nieces and -nephews. She was predeceased by her father in 1986. Celebration of Life will be held 11 a.m. Friday, April 3, 2015, at the Cavendish Baptist Church. Burial will be at a later date in the Village Cemetery in Cavendish. Arrangements are with the Aldous Funeral Home.
