CHARLOTTE L.HENDERSON, 86 LAKELAND - Charlotte L. Henderson, 86, passed away peacefully, Thursday, February 4, 2010 after a three year battle with breast cancer. Charlotte was born May 24, 1923 in Alton, Ill to Charles and Velma (Deeds) Conrad, who preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her oldest son, Robert Kirkwood (Mary Ellen) of Plant City. Charlotte is survived by her son John Henderson (Gaynelle) of Lakeland, her daughter Merle Bouffard (Robert) of Poland, Ohio, 6 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. Charlotte was a true free spirit that led a life full of experiences and accomplishments. In the 60's, she worked for McDonnell Aircraft (Now Boeing) on the Mercury and Gemini Space Programs with our first Astronauts. Charlotte's family would like to take this opportunity to extend a special thank you to the Good Shepherd Hospice, Poppy Team, who made Mom's last few days very comfortable. We also want to thank the management and the staff at Emeritus Assisted Living on Lakeland Hills Blvd. for all they have done in caring for Mom. The care that they have shown from day one, and especially in the "last days" is nothing short of heartwarming. A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
