Charlotte Dale James, age 67, of Leighton, Ala., died Wednesday, Oct. 22, 2008. Her graveside service was Thursday, Oct. 23, 2008, in Glendale Cemetery, with Charlie James officiating.Mrs. James was a native of Iuka, Miss., and was retired from the Colbert County Board of Education. She was a member of the Wolf Clan of the Echota Cherokee Tribe.She is survived by her husband, Blanton James, of Leighton; son, Mike James and wife, Jean, of Birmingham; and two grandchildren, Doug James and Kristin James, of Birmingham.The family would like to especially thank the doctors and staff of Shoals Kidney and Hypertension Center and Florence Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Shoals chapter of the Alabama Kidney Foundation.Morrison Funeral Home, of Tuscumbia, is directing.
