April 11, 1940 - Feb. 27, 2011 Charles E. "Chuck" Williams, 70, of Huntsville passed away Sunday. Mr. Williams was a graduate of William and Mary and Tulane University School of Law. He was employed by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Huntsville Center, and was an active member of Semper Fi Community Task Force and various car clubs. He retired as Lt. Col. from the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve. Mr. Williams was a 32nd degree Mason, a member of Alexandria-Washington Lodge No. 22, a Shriner and a member of the Virginia Bar Association. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Lucille Williams; mother, Hazel Kimmel Williams; father, Frank Hoyt Williams; and brother-in-law, Don Rogers. Survivors include son, Christopher Charles Williams; daughter-in-law, Laura Mizzen; granddaughter, Olivia Claire Williams; companion, Ginny Brandau; brother, Richard "Dick" Williams; sister, Diane Rogers; brothers and sisters-in-law, Donald A. Smith and wife Mary Jane and David Smith and wife Susan; and numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be from 4 to 6 p.m. Thursday at Laughlin Service Funeral Home. A graveside service with military honors will be held in New Jersey. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Semper Fi Community Task Force, P.O. Box 2291, Madison, AL 35758.
