Charles W. Strickland, 64, of Cherokee, died Tuesday, May 4, 2004. Visitation will be 6-9 p.m. today at Morrison Funeral Home, Cherokee. The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home chapel, with burial at Cherokee Memorial Park. Officiating at the service will be Brother Virgil Tittle.Mr. Strickland was a native of Colbert County and a member of the Baptist church. He was retired from Robbins Tire and Rubber. He was preceded in death by his wife, Joyce; son Forrest; and parents, Florence and Ellie Marie Strickland.Mr. Strickland is survived by his daughters, Lynn Michael and Tima McKissic; brothers, Larry Strickland and Eddie Strickland; sister, Velma Rosa Pounders; grandchildren, Chase and Tyler Michael, Boo McKissic and Coby Dakota; and five nephews.Pallbearers will be Jamie Strickland, Barry Aday, Buddy Caudill, Larry Strickland, Andy Strickland, Anthony Michael, Jo Held and Trey Michael.The family wishes to express their sincere thanks to Dr. BaAlbaki, Dr. Syed and Dr. Boorgu for their dedication to Mr. Strickland.Morrison Funeral Home, Cherokee, will be directing.
