Hanley, Charles W., 84, of Spartanburg, SC, and a former long time resident of Margate, FL, died Friday, June 10, 2005, at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center. Born November 28, 1920, in Providence, RI, he was the son of the late John James and Mary Elizabeth O'Brien Hanley and the husband of Madeline Catherine Nickerson Hanley. Mr. Hanley retired as a Regional Manager for Southern Steel and Culvert Company, and was a U.S. Army Veteran of World War II. He was a member of St Paul the Apostle Catholic Church of Spartanburg. Surviving in addition to his wife are three sons, Michael John Hanley and his wife Linda, and Donald Walter Hanley, all of Charlotte, NC, and Richard Charles Hanley of Ft. Lauderdale, FL; two daughters, Patricia Mary Fitzgerald and her husband Gerald of West Palm Beach, FL, and Beatrice Mary Chamblee and her husband Wayne of Spartanburg, SC; and seven grandchildren, Melissa Catherine Jennings, Michael Charles Jennings, Sara Nicole Chamblee, all of Spartanburg, SC, Allison Bright Hanley, Sean Patrick Hanley, Mary Colleen Hanley, all of Charlotte, NC, and Christopher Jude Fitzgerald of West Palm Beach, FL. He was predeceased by two brothers, John Joseph Hanley and James Richard Hanley.
