He was born June 16, 1938, in Greene County, Mo., to Charles and Roselee (Messerlie) Rogers. He was a member of the National Heights Baptist Church. He was also a member of the Abou Ben Adhem Shrine, and the Elks Lodge, #409, Springfield. He was a former owner-operator of a local muffler shop.He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles P. Rogers and Roselee Messerlie Rogers. He is survived by his wife, Nancy Rogers; a son, Chris Rogers and wife Terry and thier children, Brittany and husband Josh Groves and Chad Rogers; a daughter, Julie Cox and husband James, of Willard, and thier children, Lindsey Sneed, Ashlyn Sneed and Chad Cox; a son, Randy Detherage and his wife Greta, Springfield; a sister-in-law, Pat Norfleet, of Springfield.Funeral services will be held in National Heights Baptist Church, Tuesday, at 1 p.m., with Vaughn Weatherford officiating. Burial will be held in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. There is no set visitation, friends may view after noon on Monday, Memorial contributions may be made to St. John's Hospice, National Heights Baptist Church, or to the Shriners Children's Hospital.
