Charles Ray Williams, age 68, of West Frankfort, IL. passed away Tuesday, May 12, 2009 at 5:05 p.m. at Franklin Hospital in Benton, IL. He was born May 31, 1940 in Herrin, IL to Carl and Juanita (Pike) Williams. He was of the Baptist faith and was a retired coal miner from Freeman Coal #3. Charles is survived by his sons: Kellis and Mike Williams of West Frankfort, IL; brother James Williams of Benton, IL; and five grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; wives Barbara and Sheri Williams; brother Wilbert; step-father KC Stipes; stepson Chuck Karnes. Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, May 16, 2009 at Union Funeral Home in West Frankfort, IL. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m., Saturday, May 16, 2009.
