EPPING -- Charles Richard "Rick" Sanborn, 44, died Sept. 19, 2009, at the Exeter Hospital after a lengthy illness. He was born on April 26, 1965 in Exeter, to Charles P. and Judith (Webber) Sanborn of Epping. A lifelong resident of Epping, he graduated from Epping High School in 1983 and received an associate's degree in digital electronics and computer science from Hesser College in 1985. He also attended the University of New Hampshire. He was employed since February 2006 as vice president of information services for Eastern Propane. He was formerly employed as a network manager for Apogent Technologies in Portsmouth, and as a network engineer for Harvard Industries. A volunteer for Seacoast Hospice, he was a member of SEATug (Seacoast Technical Users Group) and the United Methodist Church in Hampton. A devoted husband and father, he loved the ocean and lighthouses. He also enjoyed traveling and was an avid fan of the Red Sox. IN HIS LIFE: In addition to his parents, he is survived by his wife of five years, Dale Marie (Myllykangas) Sanborn of Epping; his four-year-old daughter and light of his life, Carly Rachel Sanborn; three sisters, Susan and husband Tim Hovey of Epping, Catherine and husband Jared Rumford of Newfields, and Mary and husband Greg Hoelzel of Epping; father and mother-in-law, Ronald and Virginia Myllykangas of Leominster, Mass.; two sistersin-law, Laurie and husband Jim Williams of Binghamton, N.Y., and Jill and husband Patrick McKelvey of Ashland, Mass.; brother-in-law Steven and wife Pamela Myllykangas of Leominster, Mass.; and 11 nieces and nephews, Ryan and Sara Konop, Myles, Kayla, and Mason Myllykangas, Kaitlyn Rumford, Kayla and Ryan Hoelzel, Shannon and Alison McKelvey, and Trevor Hovey. He was predeceased by his first wife, Collette (Lyons) Sanborn in 2000. SERVICES: Calling hours are Tuesday from 4 to 7 p.m. at Brewitt Funeral Home, Epping. Funeral Services will be Wednesday at 10 a.m. at United Methodist Church, 525 Lafayette Road, Hampton. Burial will follow in Prospect Cemetery, Epping.
