BLYTHE, Ga. - Mr. Charles Phillip "Phil" DeWitt, age 55, died Saturday, April 3, 2010 after an illness. A memorial service will be held 2pm, Saturday, April 10, 2010 at The Turbeville Southern Methodist Church with visitation to follow in the fellowship hall, directed by Floyd Funeral Home of Olanta. Born in Scranton, South Carolina, he was a son of Doris Matthews DeWitt and the late Charles Beal DeWitt. Mr. DeWitt was a Cost Estimator with Insulation Systems of Augusta, Georgia and he attended Turbeville Southern Methodist Church. He had a zest for life and enjoyed biking, Archery, Aviation and many other physical activities. He was preceded in death by a brother; Myron DeWitt. Surviving besides his mother of Scranton is his daughter; Shawn (Rudy) Hendrix of Florence. A son; Reid DeWitt of Florence. A grandson; Connor Hendrix of Florence. A sister; Marsha DeWitt of Scranton. Two nephews; A.J. Kemp and Beal DeWitt. A niece; Tracey Tilton. A special friend; Kathy Coker of Turbeville. Memorials may be made to a charity of one's choice.
