Charles Oren Casey, 57, Brownstown, passed away unexpectedly at 5:45 a.m., Thursday, March 6, 2008, at Methodist Hospital, Indianapolis. Mr. Casey, as he was affectionately known, was an employee at the Cummins Engine plant in Columbus for 40 years as a journeyman in machine repair. He was known as the most unselfish and patient man in the family and a perfectionist at work, a man who wouldn't harm a fly but would tackle a bear to protect his own. He will be sorely and most assuredly missed. He was the son of Charles R. and Norma Durham Casey, both of whom preceded him in death. He was the proud husband of Brenda Denney Casey, whom he married on Oct. 8, 1977, with love and passion that many will never know. Survivors include a brother, Roger K. Casey; his children, Paul R. Miller, Michele Y. Fell, Melissa Walker, Christopher Miller, Belinda Lucas, and Angie Barr. The Rev. Brad Napier will conduct funeral services at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Brownstown Presbyterian Church, 417 North Elm, Brownstown. Burial will take place at Fairview Cemetery, Brownstown, one block from the church. Friends may call from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday at Voss Funeral Service, Voss Chapel, Seymour, and from 10 a.m. until time of service Tuesday at the church. Memorials may be given to the American Lung Association, 61 Broadway, New York, NY 10006. www.vossfuneralservice.com
